My name is Sonja Brankovic and I am a PhD student in Mechanical Engineering and Teaching Assistant at Georgia Tech’s Corrosion and Materials Chemistry Research Laboratory (CMCRL). My PhD project focuses on the performance of structural materials in extreme environments for renewable energy technology. I explore the thermophysical and corrosion properties of metal alloys and ceramics using a variety of techniques, including Laser Flash Analysis (LFA), Differential Scanning Calorimetry (DSC), and X-Ray Diffraction (XRD). Outside of the lab, I enjoy writing about energy and sustainability, reading, and spending time with my husband and our beagle, Bud.
