Service

INFORMS I am a member of INFORMS and have served this professional society in multiple ways. Currently, I serve as the advisor to theĀ INFORMS Student Chapter at Georgia Tech. Previously, I served on the Chapters/Fora Committee in 2018-2019 and on the INFORMS Subdivisions Council as a Student Chapter Representative in 2017-2018.

While I studied at the University of Michigan, I enjoyed doing STEM outreach activities and giving back to my professional community through the following organizations.

Graduate Society of Women Engineers (GradSWE) I was an Outreach Officer for GradSWE in 2015-2016. During my time as Outreach Officer, we put on a weekly “Engineering Club” at Adams Elementary School in Ypsilanti, MI. I also helped to organize an all-day science program in Detroit for 20 students.

Females Excelling More in Math, Engineering, and the Sciences (FEMMES) I have volunteered with FEMMES at their after-school programs at local elementary schools, as well as their community outreach programs.

INFORMS Student Chapter (INFORMS) The INFORMS Student Chapter has a fun “Emergency Department Simulation Game” that teaches students about industrial engineering concepts by simulating patient flow through a hospital. The students have a chance to identify bottlenecks and make changes to get as many patients through the hospital as possible. The game was developed by Dr. Mariel Lavieri and the INFORMS Student Chapter continues to put on the activity at various STEM outreach events. I’ve led the activity at the FEMMES Saturday Capstone event in 2017 and at the “Engineering Club” at Adams Elementary School in partnership with the GradSWE Outreach team.
