Research

I am an anti-cancer medicinal chemist, focused on the design and synthesis of novel organic compounds for medicinal chemistry and biomaterial applications. I have investigated the development of non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs) as potential inhibitors of dihydrofolate reductase (DHFR), a key enzyme in cancer signaling. I have also explored the use of aspirin derivatives for targeted acetylation of lysine residues in NF-kB, another protein implicated in cancer. Additionally, my research has involved optimizing cross-linking reactions for bioconjugation applications, particularly using EDC-based chemistry and NHS ester-based reactions. This work has implications for drug design, biomaterial development, and the creation of novel therapeutics.
