During the Spring 2024 semester, we organized a week-long student trip to Kigali, Rwanda. We collaborated with our local partners for this learner-focused visit.
The students learned from disability case workers, community health educators, and disability NGOs; they interacted with local AT entrepreneurs and start-ups; they visited people with disabilities in their homes, schools, and workplaces to observe the challenges these people face.
We believe that this trip was a productive experience for the students to understand the disability experience in low-income countries enhancing their cross-cultural competencies.
