Symptoms
- High body temp
- Confusion, agitation, slurring, irritability
- Nausea and vomiting
- Rapid breathing
- Racing heart
- Headache
Treatment
- Immerse person in cold water (ice bath)
- Pack person with ice packets or cooling blankets
- Medications to reduce shivering, such as a muscle relaxant prescribed by doctor
When to see a doctor
- If you have suspected heat stroke call 911 or go to emergency room immediately
