Symptoms

- Red and swollen tonsils
- White bumps in back of throat
- Swollen and tender lymph nodes in neck
- Fever

- Rash sometimes
- Body aches
- Sometimes vomiting
Treatments
- Medication prescribed by doctors
- Antibiotics: TAKE ALL even if symptoms get better
- Pain relievers such as ibuprofen, advil, motrin, Tylenol
When to see a doctor
- A sore throat with swollen or tender lymph glands
- Sore throat that persists longer than 48 hours
- Fever
- Sore throat and a rash
- Problems breathing or swallowing
- If you have already been diagnosed and antibiotics don’t start working within 48 hours see a doctor immediately
