Symptoms
- Line under skin
- Usually on hands or feet
- Pain around area of splinter
- Redness or swelling
Treatment
- Wash your hands and area around the splinter with warm soap and water
- Sterilize tweezers by boiling them
- If splinter is sticking out of skin, just grab the end with the tweezers and gently pull it out
- If its under the skin completely, scrape away the skin with a needle until some of the splinter is exposed, then gently remove it with tweezers
- Wash the area and cover with a bandaid

- If the splinter is too deep and it won’t come out
- If it’s under a fingernail or toenail
- If it’s bleeding a lot
- If the area around looks infected
- If the person’s vaccines aren’t up to date
