Symptoms:
- Acute:
- Sudden severe pain

- Cannot place weight on leg, knee, ankle or foot
- Joint is tender
- Mobility of joint is not as good
- Bone or joint is visibly out of place
- Chronic:
- Pain when you play or exercise
- Dull ache when you rest
- Swelling
Causes:
- Accidents
- Poor training practices
- Improper gear
- Being out of condition
- Not warming up or stretching before you play or exercise
Treatments:
- RICE (rest, ice, compression, elevation)
- Medications (anti-inflammatories)
- Surgery
- Physical therapy
- Limiting movement (immobilization)
