Warning: Chicken Pox is contagious and can spread to others until all broke blisters have crusted over. Avoid scratching of rashes.
Symptoms:
- Fever
- Loss of Appetite
- Headache
- Tiredness and a general feelings of being unwell
- Itchy blister rash caused by infections appears 10-21 days after exposure to the virus and lasts about 5-10 days
- Raised pink or red bumps
- Small fluid-filled blisters which form, break, and leak
- Crusts and scabs
Diagnosis:
- Consult with a doctor if
- Rash spreads to one or both eyes
- Rash gets very red, warm, or tender
- Rash is accompanied by dizziness, disorientation, rapid heartbeat, shortness of breath, tremors, loss of muscle coordination, cough, vomiting, stiff neck or high fever (102 or more)
- Individual is 6 years or younger
Treatment:
- Visit doctor for prescribed antihistamine drugs to relieve itching
- Ask your doctor about Acyclovir, Privigen, Valtrex
- For temporary relief
- Take Acetaminophen (Tylenol) for pain or fever

- Dab calamine lotion on itchy spots
- Try antihistamine (Benadryl)
