About WISH
The Workgroup on Interactive Systems in Health (WISH) brings together industry and academic researchers in human-computer interaction (HCI), health informatics, and other disciplines to develop a cross-disciplinary research agenda that will drive future innovations. In addition, the WISH Symposium facilitates a common, safe space to share and discuss methods, study designs, and dissemination within each community. This will be the ninth WISH in the series of successful workshops that has helped bring together different research communities around challenges in designing, implementing, and evaluating interactive health technologies.
Attending WISH
This year’s WISH Symposium will be virtual and take place as part of AMIA 2020, on Saturday, November 14, 2020. We hope you can join us!
WISH 2020 Theme
This year, the WISH Symposium’s theme is Digital Health Equity.
Keynote Speaker Announcement
We are pleased to announce Dr. Desmond U. Patton will be our keynote speaker at WISH 2020. Dr. Patton is going to give an incredible talk entitled, “Community data science approaches to analyzing trauma and loss on social media.”
Mentoring Program
Over the last few years, WISH has established a tradition of a strong mentorship program in which junior researchers can apply to be paired with mentors selected from distinguished members and thought leaders from WISH-related research and industry communities. We will continue this tradition at WISH 2020.
More information regarding the mentoring program, and how to apply can be found here.
Registering
To attend, please register for AMIA 2020. You do not need to have a submission accepted to the WISH Symposium to register for and attend the symposium.
If you only plan to attend the WISH Symposium (and not the rest of AMIA) you can sign up for one-day registration: Saturday, November 14th, and please select WISH under Tutorials/Special Events during registration.
