The style of research that was conducted for this archive was searching through secondary sources that heavily referenced primary sources from World War II. We looked for articles that explained the censorship in letters or other forms of media such as newspapers during the war with primary sources of the censorship within the article, blog post, or website. Our methodology was to build a foundation of understanding of the topic of WWII censorship while also finding primary sources that provide first hand evidence of the censorship. Our choices for first hand sources were mostly letters that were sent by soldiers during the war, but we also found evidence in newspapers and letters sent by the family of soldiers to be useful. By combining our primary sources and info learned in the articles, we hoped to paint the full picture of how the censorship affected people and the overall communication during the war.
