Teaching Statement
Teaching is incredibly important to me. I love being in the classroom/online meeting and working with students and it is fantastic to hear that my students nail the homework and exams after my help and their strenuous efforts. The sense of fulfillment and satisfaction is priceless.

Student testimonials (Extracted from Georgia Tech CIOS)
- Yihua’s greatest strength was his ability to address student concerns such as including more practice problems before starting to work on the worksheet assigned.
- Amazing TA. 10/10.
- Yihua took time to explain anything that students did not grasp from class.
- It became very clear that Yihua cared deeply about the student’s emotional health and academic success. I ended up emailing him and letting him know that even though I wasn’t in his section, I would really appreciate some help with the material. He enthusiastically agreed, and for the rest of the semester, whenever I was stuck on a concept I would email him and we’d talk through it. My understanding of the material was not his responsibility at all, but he still cared and helped me to the best of his ability. Though I’ve never met him in person, it is clear he is a deeply altruistic person and the kind of TA everyone should strive to be. He embodies the Tech values of excellence, impact, leadership, and community in a tangible way!
- Yihua carried this class. I felt prepared for most of my quizzes because of this man and this man alone. At first, recitations were not super helpful. But he LISTENED to the students and ADJUSTED. After that point each session was absolutely excellent.
- Yihua was by far my favorite TA last semester, he was so nice and demonstrated the concepts so clearly.
- He was the best TA I had and I learned a lot and appreciated how invested he was in helping his students succeed.
- The collaboration makes the content less boring, and it’s actually a fun experience rather than just studying on my own. Yihua does a great job in helping clarify the tricky rules of Java and creating problems that teach those very well.
