Cultivate Well-being

Georgia Tech’s Mission is “To develop leaders who advance technology and improve the human condition. Cultivate Well-being is one of the six focus areas in Georgia Tech’s strategic plan.

ISyE has multiple programs to cultivate well-being.

  1. EVELYN PENNINGTON UNDERGRADUATE STUDENT HEALTH AND WELLNESS AWARD. Each academic year, the School will award up to 30 undergraduate students in ISyE who show concrete effort to engage in, advocate for, or lead activities that promote physical and mental health for students. Each award is $150 and will be funded from the Evelyn Pennington Endowment Fund, the purpose of which is to enhance student life in ISyE. Please look out for announcement in early spring semesters.
  2. PHILLIP J. AND DELORES A. SCOTT GRADUATE STUDENT HEALTH AND WELLNESS AWARD. Each academic year, the School will award up to 10 graduate students in ISyE who show concrete effort to engage in, advocate for, or lead activities that promote physical and mental health for students. Each award is $150 and will be funded from the Evelyn Pennington Endowment Fund, the purpose of which is to enhance student life in ISyE. Please look out for announcement in early spring semesters.
  3. ISyE running club. Drs. Dima Nazzal, Chen Zhou and student leaders organize the undergraduate and graduate students to  train and run in Publix 5K, Half and Marathon in spring, Peachtree Road race in the summer and  QQQ Thanksgiving day 5K and Half Marathon in the fall.
