Amir H. Hosseinnia

After completion of B.Sc. and M.Sc. degrees in Electrical Engineering, Amir joined the Photonics Research Group at Georgia Institute of Technology in 2011 to pursue his PhD studies in photonics and micro/nano-device fabrication. During his time at Tech, he has been working on the design, fabrication and characterization of integrated photonic platforms, systems and devices. He has successfully developed various hybrid material platforms to realize ultra-low-loss, high-speed and high-efficiency integrated devices. His efforts to demonstrate high quality micro-resonators, high-efficiency interlayer couplers, and high-speed modulators on hybrid platforms has paved the path to realize a novel set of photonic systems on a chip, which he is working on.His research interests include the design, optimization, and fabrication of integrated photonic devices, hybrid-material optical platforms and novel optical materials. He also served as an executive board member of OSA Student Chapter at Georgia Tech aimed to boost the science of optics through various events and conferences.
