Current Projects

This semester we are working on two new projects!

Stingerette Electrification

Transportation is the largest source of greenhouse gas emissions in the US. The objective of this project is to present a cost-benefit analysis to Georgia Tech’s Parking and Transportation Services(PTS) and convince them to purchase a certain amount of electric stingerettes which would in turn reduce Georgia Tech’s operating cost and gas consumption. You can find an updated version of the project here!

Anaerobic Digestion

Only 0.17% of the energy consumed by Georgia Tech comes from a clean and renewable source. In order to help reach the university’s goal of carbon neutrality by 2050 as stated in the Climate Action Plan, ElectrifyGT is exploring anaerobic digestion as a viable renewable energy process to implement on campus. Scaling up this natural process of microorganisms breaking down organic matter to form biogas in the absence of oxygen could be an extremely innovative step forward for Georgia Tech.
