Solidworks

Solidworks was first released in 1995. This software package was one of the first CAD frameworks to implement parametric design–meaning that the shapes and relations in the design were dictated by mathematical relations and algorithms, rather than being designed directly.

In 2015, Solidworks still had 22.7% of the market share, while AutoCAD only accounted for 9.8% in the same survey by CNCCookBook CAD survey.
