GT Belonging & Student Support
In the Smithgall Building, the Department of Belonging & Student Support includes the former LGBTQIA Resource Center, the former Women’s Resource Center, and the former Black Culture, Innovation, and Technology. The Department coordinates a range of programs and events throughout the year aimed at educating faculty, students, and staff about LGBTQIA issues, providing safe spaces for LGBTQIA students to build community and explore their identities, and facilitating conversations about LGBTQIA diversity, equity, and inclusion. Email William Britto or visit the Smithgall Building. The Department also supports women and advances gender equity through programming, crisis intervention and resource information in a supportive environment. In addition, the Department works to foster cross-cultural understanding and help students explore community and culture.
Pride Alliance is a Georgia Tech student organization for LGBTQIA students and their allies (mainly focused on undergraduates). They host discussions, game nights, movie screenings, and more. At the beginning of the school year, they have a series of Welcome Week events. Every October, we celebrate Out Week as well as march in the Atlanta Pride Parade.
GT’s health services are trained to deal with LGBTQIA-specific health issues and needs.
