GT-CREATER is an American Chemical Society (ACS)-funded Bridge Site that is tasked with providing a chemistry-led, integrated learning environment that incorporates high-quality research, assessment-based teaching experiences, and focused professional development.
The mission of the GT-CREATER Bridge Site will be to use the GT School of Chemistry and Biochemistry (SoCB) thesis-based MS program to provide transitional training from BS to PhD in order to ensure that more students from underrepresented groups enter and are successful in PhD programs.
Motivation: Increasing the number of successful URM Chem and Biochem PhD students would make an important impact and continue to demonstrate Georgia Tech’s commitment to inclusive excellence.
Measurable outcomes: As an ACS Bridge Site, GT-CREATER will:
- Increasethe number of students from underrepresented groups earning a MS thesis at Georgia Tech
- Increasethe number of students from underrepresented groups who apply for and enter PhD study at Georgia Tech and elsewhere
- Expand the cohort through synergistic activities with the other funded GT Bridge Sites in Chemical and Biomolecular Engineering (GT-EQUAL) and Earth and Atmospheric Sciences
