Michael Doran
Michael is an accomplished embedded systems engineer with over a decade of experience, specializing in cutting-edge digital design and hypervisor technology at the embedded level. With both a Bachelor’s and Master’s degree in Computer Engineering from Grand Valley State University, his academic journey culminated in a master’s thesis focused on implementing seL4 on a RISC-V softcore with hypervisor extensions enabled—pioneering work in secure systems architecture.
In parallel to his technical career, Michael proudly serves as a Cyber Warfare Officer in the Army Reserves. This unique dual background has deepened his commitment to safeguarding the systems that underpin our most critical infrastructure. Inspired by his military service, he is currently channeling his expertise into PhD research focused on cybersecurity solutions for Critical Infrastructure, aiming to address emerging threats in an increasingly connected world.
