Maestro as Professor was founded in summer 2020 as a service to our profession and to the younger generation of musicians in this troubling time.
The webinar series is led by Dr. Carolyn Watson (Associate Professor/Director of Orchestral Activities, University of Kansas) and Dr. Chaowen Ting (Associate Professor/Director of Orchestral Activities, Georgia Institute of Technology). The series is centered around navigating the various aspects of collegiate positions for aspiring orchestral conductors.
Sessions will cover a variety of aspects associated with obtaining a collegiate conducting position – understanding and interpreting job descriptions, application materials and requirements, various types of positions, different types of schools/colleges etc. Over the course of this series, we will be joined by a variety of guest speakers from institutions throughout the United States.
