Welcome to the world of Throkam! Throkam is a neomedieval kingdom rife in turmoil and political strife due to the spread of magic. With the majority Throic population taking up the center of the continent, the Ichui and Nidu peoples inhabiting the mountains that line the northern edge, and the Claspir sailing the islands of the south, the kingdom is home to a wide variety of peoples, geography, and ideologies. Since Amaran’s Opus, a significant magical achievement where Amaran, a Nidu monk, was able to utilize Lifeforce magic in order to turn the king immortal, magic has become widespread. Where magic used to only be a niche study done by Nidu monks and eccentrics in specialized temples, it has become a daily tool. Farmers use lifeforce magic to improve crop yields, blacksmiths use thermal magic in their forge, and seafarers use fluid magic to propel their ships. This magic revolution has led to growing success among the common folk, leading them to seek independence and influence, forming factions and committees of groups in order to have greater sway in politics. These factions have turned Throkam into a battleground of competing interests and influences that players will have to navigate during their campaigns.
