Biography

I grew up in Toronto, Ontario, Canada, and went to Dr. Norman Bethune C. I. I studied flute under Mizi Tan, eventually obtaining Grade 10 Flute certificate (with First Class Honours) from The Royal Conservatory of Music in 2012. I received a Bachelor of Applied Science in Engineering Science degree (with High Honours) and a Master of Applied Science in Electrical and Computer Engineering degree in 2017 and 2019, respectively, from the University of Toronto. My supervisor was Professor Reza Iravani. At U of T, I was fortunate enough to work closely with and learn from other researchers as well, including Professors Zeb Tate, Peter Lehn, and W. M. Wonham.

I have interned at Alectra Utilities (Mississauga, Ontario) from 2015 to 2016, where I spent eight months in the Reliability Engineering Department and four months in the Distribution Engineering Department. Prior to this internship, I have worked for Rocscience (Toronto, Ontario) during Summer 2014, contributing to their software development team.

In August 2019, I moved to Georgia Tech to pursue a Ph.D. degree under the supervision of Professors Maryam Saeedifard and Matthieu Bloch to further advance my study of power electronics, power systems, and cyber-physical security, and I have so far collaborated with Professors Lukas Graber and Daniel Molzahn for Ph.D. research. Moreover, I taught ECE2020 to a class of 50 students in both Fall 2023 and Spring 2024, achieving end-of-semester course survey scores of 4.9 out of 5.0 for each term.

I held the position of IEEE Power Electronics Society (PELS) Atlanta Chapter Chair from 2019 to 2024, successfully establishing it as one of the most active PELS chapters in the US.

Outside of my work, I am an amateur flutist, a soccer fan, and a history buff.
