RED² Graduate Students, Asano and Perry, awarded prestigious Health Physics Society Fellowships

Congratulations to RED² Ph.D. students, Ethan Asano and Alexander Perry for receiving the 2020-2021 Health Physics Society Fellowships. Both Asano and Perry jointed RED² in 2019, where both bring excellent and unique interests into their graduate careers and the RED² group. Asano, a student in the Center for Nuclear Security Science and Policy Initiatives (NSSPI), is investigating environmental decontamination in the event of a radiological release and involves the assessment of ground and surface contamination using experimental gamma-ray detector response validation with hybrid radiation transport simulations. Perry, a recipient of the J. Newell Stannard Health Physics Society Fellowship, is investigating machine learning applications in computational dosimetry.
