Emily Phillips

Emily R. Phillips earned her B.S. in Chemistry from the University of North Carolina Asheville in 2019  training under Dr. John W. Brock to identify inhibition of phthalate glucuronidation by over-the-counter drugs. In her final year at UNCA, she accepted a position in Dr. Dana Barr’s LEADER Laboratory at Emory University. She remained there following graduation until early 2020 when she began a fellowship at the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention with Dr. Zsuzsanna Kuklenyik prior to coming to Georgia Institute of Technology for her PhD. Her professional interests lie in public health and toxicology, primarily utilizing liquid and gas chromatography and mass spectrometry. In her spare time, Emily enjoys cooking and playing with her dog Potato.
