David Lewis received his B.S. (2021) and M.S. (2022) in Chemistry from Furman University where he worked with DNA-Templated Silver Nanoclusters under the mentorship of Dr. Jeff Petty. He continued his work with Dr. Petty as a research scientist in 2023. Following this work, David remained at Furman, taking a new research position with Dr. Mac Gilliland where he worked on the development of an atmospheric pressure photoionization miniature mass spectrometer for mobile VOC analysis. In pursuing his PhD, David hopes to improve upon his understanding and knowledge of mass spectrometry along with its wide variety of applications.
