Lakshmi Prasad Dasi

Lakshmi Prasad Dasi received his PhD in Civil & Environmental Engineering in 2004 and MS in Civil & Environmental Engineering in 2000 from Gerogia Institute of Technology. He completed his BTech in Civil Engineering from Indian Institue of Technology Mumbai. Prior to his current position at Georgia Tech, he served as an associate professor at The Ohio State University from 2015 to 2019 and an associate professor of Mechanical Engineering at Colorado State University from 2009 to 2015. He enjoys cooking hot steamy Chinese entrees and watching movies after catching up on sleep.

Shelley Chee-Mei Gooden

Shelley Gooden graduated with a B.S. degree in Biomedical Engineering and a minor in Chinese Language from Wright State University in Spring 2017. Her previous research used fNIRS as a non-invasive neuroimaging technique. She joined Dr. Dasi’s lab in January 2018 and completed her M.S. by the end of the year at The Ohio State University. She since continued in the lab as a Ph.D. student. Her hobbies include making earrings and keychains, sewing, astronomy, reading science news, and eating lemons.

Hoda Hatoum

Hoda Hatoum is a post-doc in Dr. Dasi’s lab. She joined the lab as a PhD student in August 2015. She received her B.S. in Mechanical Engineering at the American University of Beirut in Lebanon and her Ph.D. in Mechanical Engineering from OSU in August 2018. In her free time, Hoda enjoys reading, watching football games, drinking coffee and jogging.

Breandan Yeats

Breandan is a PhD student in the Biomedical Engineering at OSU. His research is about developing 3-D patient-specific models of aortic heart valves in order to run computational simulations to predict the outcomes of placing a new valve into the patient.

SriKrishna SivaKumar

Krishna is a PhD student in the Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering department. He joined Dr. Dasi’s lab in August 2018. Krishna works on computational modeling of aortic valves fluid and solid mechanics. In his free time, Krishna enjoys cooking Indian food and watching football.

Milad Samaee

Milad is a Post-doc in Dr. Dasi’s lab. He joined the lab in January 2020. He is working on in-vitro experiments to study clinically relevant questions of the mitral valve function. His focus is on design, test, and build equipment to help in conducting each experiment with fluid and structural mechanics to investigate the healthy, diseased or repaired state of the mitral valve. He enjoys watching Persian movies before bed.
