Presentation Observations

Ethan

  • Recreating Ebbets Field
  • Created a 3D model
    • This was super creative and added a great element of multimodality to Ethan’s presentation
    • My presentation incorporated multimodality by containing old images of James Bulger, Stephen Flemmi, and John Connolly
    • To improve my multimodality, I wish I made a book cover for my story
    • I’m not the best artist so making a cover would have been challenging, but it also would have been a lot of fun and made my presentation more visually appealing to my audience
  • Presented notable events that occurred at the stadium

Cole

  • Overall, my presentation went pretty well
  • I’m thankful I managed to speed up my speaking pace so that I could finish in 7 minutes
  • I noticed that it’s much harder to remember what to say when you’re in front of a crowd of people
  • My strategy was to talk slow because that allowed me to think in my head what I wanted to say
  • Normally, when I present, I use excessive body language, so for this presentation, my goal was to move my hands only when it added meaning to my presentation
  • I wish I gave better responses when the audience asked me questions; I rushed to answer their questions and didn’t take the time to consider what they were truly asking

Matt

  • Created a short film about artificial intelligence
  • Researched AI and included articles in his film
  • 3 minute film but it was demanding
  • Plans on submitting his film to a festival to see if he can acquire any awards

Elie + Bryan

  • Studied ChatGPT
  • Covered the benefits and costs of AI
  • AI is inevitable
  • Conducted a survey asking questions to GT students about AI
  • Interacted with the class by having an activity where students moved around the room to indicate their answers to a series of questions
    • Throughout my presentation, I planned on interacting with the class more
    • I was going to ask them some questions regarding their favorite types of stories
    • Unfortunately, I was short on time, so I decided to not get input from the class and just focus on articulating all the information I needed to get out before my time was up
