ATL@GT students Gabriel Cedraz Diniz, Maitreyee Talnikar, and Tulio Sulbaran were named 2024 Ken Wang Scholars.
As described on the AGIFORS website, “The AGIFORS Ken Wang Scholars program recognizes students who are in the early stages of their careers and are engaging in airline operations research. The Scholars program honors the late Ken Wang, who served for many years as a member of the AGIFORS Council and as the chair of the Scheduling and Strategic Planning Study Group. He was also active in the Annual Symposium and Revenue Management study groups meetings. Ken Wang served for nearly twenty years as the General Manager of Planning and Revenue Management at Cathay Pacific and later did work with Airbus.”
As part of their scholarship, Gabriel, Maitreyee, and Tulio will receive registration valued at over $1,000 to attend the annual symposium in Grand Cayman this October where they will have the opportunity to meet and interact with the AGIFORS community and receive industry input and connections that will be valuable for shaping their research.
Congratulations to Gabriel, Maitreyee, and Tulio who are the first Georgia Tech students to be have won this honor. They join a growing group of students who have been recognized early in their academic programs for pursuing creative, rigorous, and practically relevant work using operations research techniques to solve airline problems!
