Paul Hohler

Paul Hohler is a product manager at PROS. Paul received his PhD in theoretical nuclear physics and after spending several years in post-doctoral positions, decided to move to industry and looked for companies where he could apply his math skills. RM was a natural fit, and Paul was surprised to learn that a lot of former physicists work in RM!

As a product manager, Paul is responsible for getting products out to customers on time and helping to determine and prioritize customers’ product customization and development requests. Paul is excited about two innovations that PROS has been working on related to forecasting models that take into account customers’ willingness to pay and initiatives related to dynamic pricing and ancillary pricing.

Paul is also excited about the future of RM and offer optimization. He envisions a future in which airlines are able to drive the offer generation process and determine not only how to price a flight, but which flight ancillaries and third-party products (such as hotels and car rentals) to include in an offer (and how to price these products).

For those interested in pursuing careers in RM, Paul recommends taking core courses in probability, statistics, math, and data analytics.
