Tony Yaacoub

Tony Yaacoub is manager of pricing and inventory optimization at Delta. Tony received his PhD at Georgia Tech under the direction of Dave Goldsman and did an internship at Delta as part of his doctoral program in which he developed a simulation tool to explore how to dynamically block seats so that there were rows available for families to sit together. Tony enjoys working at an airline because he can see the impact of his work and ideas, do real-time testing of different ideas and measure the impact. He is also excited about future innovations in the pipeline, including offer management in which customers are presented with the “right offer” that includes both flights as well as one or more services they want and are willing to pay for. Tony also enjoys the flight perks associated with working at an airline and recently traveled to Switzerland, England, Mexico, and Croatia.

Tony encourages students interested in revenue management to take courses in Python, machine learning, and reinforcement learning as well as courses that help them learn how to design and evaluate experiments.
