Alaska Airlines hosted ATL@GT members in Anchorage on June 12-13 for a very productive and memorable meeting. For many members, it was their first time visiting the state of Alaska. Dr. Garrow, Center director reflects on her experience in the state noting “I was amazed to see just how proud everyone I met who lives in Alaska is of their state, heritage, and beautiful surroundings, and just how proud the Alaska Airlines employees are to be part of serving the unique communities of Alaska, many of which are only served by air! I can’t thank our hosts at Alaska Airlines enough, particularly Daniel Fry and Jacqueline Smith, for all they did to make this a one-in-a-lifetime experience for us.
As part of the meeting, ATL@GT members had the opportunity to not only engage in spirited technical discussions and debates, but also to tour Alaska Airlines’ hanger and cargo facilities and at the Alaska Native Heritage Center. During the networking event, you will have an opportunity to visit six authentic life-sized Native dwellings and learn about the traditional lifeways of Iñupiaq, St. Lawrence Island Yupik, Athabascan, and many other peoples.
