Laurie Garrow

Laurie Garrow is Director for ATL@GT and a professor in the Schools of Civil and Aerospace Engineering.  Her research focuses on modeling airline customer behavior, understanding how consumer preferences translate to demand for products and services, and using advanced methodological approaches to enhance product offerings, revenues, and customer satisfaction. 

Dr. Garrow earned her PhD from Northwestern University. Her dissertation on PNR-level no show forecasts won first prize in the INFORMS Aviation Applications Section competition and honorable mention in the IATBR Eric Pas competition.  She is also a recipient a NSF CAREER award and the prestigious ASCE Walter L. Huber Civil Engineering Research Prize “for development and integration of advanced discrete choice models of traveler behavior into airline planning, scheduling, and revenue management decision support systems.”

Dr. Garrow currently serves as Past President of AGIFORS and holds the distinction of being the first woman and the first second-term president of that organization.  She has served in a variety of other leadership positions, including the Board of Directors of INFORMS as the Vice President of Societies and Sections.  Dr. Garrow’s passion for the aviation industry is reflected in numerous media interviews and opinion pieces she has written.
