Welcome from the Director

Laurie Garrow

Welcome to the Air Transportation Lab at Georgia Tech (ATL@GT). Three years ago, I announced the launch of this new center which focused on airline revenue management and welcomed our 8 inaugural members from Air Canada, Alaska, Amadeus, Delta, the Lufthansa Group, Pros, Sabre, and United. Three years later, we have expanded and added two new members: ATPCO/3Victors and Emirates with more expected to join shortly. ATL@GT was formed in 2023 when Peter Belobaba retired from MIT. ATL@GT will continue the rich history of industry partners coming together to not only support revenue management research, but also to implement key approaches and findings emerging from that research throughout the airline community.

As we embark on this new journey at Georgia Tech, I’m particularly excited about the new opportunities for our graduate students. Students working with ATL@GT will interact with leading experts in revenue management from throughout the world, visit their offices as part of regular center meetings, and pursue internships with members during the summer. Graduate students supported by ATL@GT will work on a variety of research topics that incorporate concepts in continuous pricing, ancillary pricing, demand forecasting, machine learning, and other areas. Any GT students interested in aviation can learn about revenue management through a new course I’m offering.

I invite you to learn more about our center, our corporate members, and the internship programs they offer as well as research that will be ramping up this year.
