Van Hentenryck’s research in energy systems is concerned with novel optimization and machine learning techniques for a variety of applications in electricity networks, including optimal power flows, unit commitment, transmission expansion planning, line switching, and power restoration. Van Hentenryck also interested in gas networks, the joint optimization of electricity and gas networks, and privacy in energy systems.
