The NMR Center operates as a cost center. Charges are made directly to Georgia Tech accounts that have previously been created. Funds collected are used for the daily operation of the center (e.g. cryogens, supplies and repairs). Hourly fees for NMR spectrometer usage are set as follows:

Operator assisted time:  $40/hr
Varian Mercury 300 (“r2d2”): $10/hr
Varian Mercury 400 (“amidala” in IBB): $10/hr
Bruker AVIII 400 (“c3po”): $10/hr
Bruker AVIII HD 500 with prodigy cryoprobe (“chewie”): $18/hr, – $7 after 8 hours of uninterrupted use
Bruker AVIII HD 500 with solid-state NMR capabilities (“yoda” – priority for long-time expts.): $7/hr
Bruker AVIII HD 700 with cryoprobe and solid-state NMR capabilities (“rey”): $25/hr, – $7 after 8 hours of uninterrupted use
Bruker AVIII HD 800 with cryoprobe (“luke”): $25/hr, – $7 after 8 hours of uninterrupted use
Bruker AVIII HD 300 – solid-state NMR (“obiwan”): $12/hr, – $7/hr after 8 hours of uninterrupted use
Bruker AVIII 400 – solid-state NMR with MR-microimaging and Diffusion NMR accessories (“jaba”):  $12/hr, – $7/hr after 8 hours of uninterrupted use

Non-academic users: please call for rates

Time between terms and holidays are billed at the same rates as indicated above. Operator-assisted charges include time for set-up and instrument time. This charge structure is based on current and projected usage of the NMR spectrometers. It will be periodically updated as usage data warrant.
